The Challenge

Maintenance and renovation in health care facilities increases risks to patients and staff. IPAC can be technical, broad and complicated, especially when the HCF is in service. All maintenance staff have IPAC responsibility and CSA requires IPAC training at all levels. 

ICTG develops courses to train industry-accepted infection prevention and control standards and principles. We get the right information to the right people to do the right tasks within health care facilities while being under the constraints of time, costs and impact to HCF occupants.

The Course

This 8-hour course certifies maintenance personnel with the industry accepted and practical IPAC they need.

Course focus is on the requirements of Section 7 (Infection Prevention and Control Measures for Renovation, Repairs, and Maintenance) of the CSA Standard Z317.13 Infection Control During Construction, Renovation, and Maintenance of Health Care Facilities and other content in CSA 317.12 Cleaning and Disinfection of HCFs.

ICTG includes problem-solving real-world scenarios and practical hands-on exercises to help staff and trades better understand how to protect HCF occupants from infection risks.
